From April 25 to 27, 2025, over 1,200 student-athletes from more than 30 SABIS® schools worldwide gathered in Abu Dhabi for the 14th SABIS® Global Sports Tournament, hosted by SABIS® International School Yas Island and SABIS® International School Al Bateen. The biennial event featured high-level competitions in Football, Basketball, Swimming, and Track & Field.
Launched in 2002, the tournament has become a flagship celebration of sportsmanship, leadership, and global friendship. This year’s edition welcomed teams from across the globe, including Brazil, Germany, Kenya, and for the first time, Team USA.
The opening ceremony on April 24, held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Moubarak Al Nahyan, featured dazzling performances, the parade of nations, and a stunning drone show. SABIS® leaders emphasized the tournament’s role in building character and lifelong skills.
Throughout the event, athletes broke 11 records, earned over 200 medals, and demonstrated passion, teamwork, and resilience. Four MVPs were recognized for their standout performances in Football and Basketball. A closing ceremony celebrated the winners and the unforgettable experiences shared by all participants.
